The last weekend of July - Bill had the friday off so we got to spend a couple of gorgeous days up on the water.
Bill had found this bay when he was up for a day and we were still in Minnesota. He called it Wood Duck Bay. It is fabulous! Closer to the marina than Stone Skipping Bay - we can go on shore (or at least we have been able to up until now...haven't seen any no trespassing signs yet). It is protected and shallow right by shore so the kids can play. My favorite yet!
Bill - ready to jump in!
love these kiddos!
out for a morning hike with lily.
getting our favorite Thai food!
flower iced tea --- can you tell I am a routine person??
another day we went closer to the green monarchs.
jumping off the boat fun.
these are delicious!
we spent our day on the boat with the Vollmer family! So fun having them close to us up at the mountain!
vollmers hosted us and another family for dinner. the kids played outside awesome!
dressing up a dog never gets old
Sunday we hiked to the top of Schweitzer.
the first few steps are always the hardest. the kids were complaining of being tired within 10 feet. but eventually they just start plodding along and stop complaining.
it got better when we found huckleberries! the kids loved picking them!
nearly there!!
almost at the top looking over the back side down at Colburn lake, which we ski next to all winter long.
Charlie, Ellie and I made it up first! Claire followed up with Bill. She likes to take her time.
you really do feel like you are on top of the world!
the new sky house is awesome. we packed lunches and sat up there and had our lunch.
before riding down!!
back on the boat that afternoon - we were near shore and some ducks came close by. Bill said - they want food - so I grabbed some bread and started feeding the baby ducks. Charlie was in the water and was able to get so close!
claire's new trick - standing up on the tube
dirty face and messy hair - a sign of a great weekend.
I can't believe we are heading into August! Thankful for such a wonderful June and July!
