charlie's announcement

charlie has a bit of news....



yes - you heard right. we are expecting 2 babies...identical twins!!! we are excited and overwhelmed. we found out we were expecting 2 at our 8 week appointment. after only seeing 1 baby for almost the entire appointment my doctor started to look around and all of a sudden another one popped up!

today we had a 10 week ultrasound and were able to see the babies. they were about the same size (Baby A - 10 wks 1 day, Baby B - 10 wks 2 days) and had the same heartbeat (156 bpm). our identical twins have two different amniotic sacs, but share the same placenta which presents certain risks. on this ultrasound, Baby B showed fluid in different places than Baby A which is quite concerning. there is a high chance our babies will have twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). TTTS is extremely dangerous and is life threatening. we are praying that God will stop any imbalanced transfusion between Baby A & Baby B. we are praying for a full term healthy twin pregnancy. ultimately, we want these babies and our family to glorify God.

we have another ultrasound in 2 weeks and if there is not any fluid imbalance it would be a miracle. please join us in praying for our babies.

fall outing

this past saturday, we went to sekapp’s orchard to have a fall outing. we were there a few weeks early so not all of the “fall” stuff was set up. but, charlie loved the hay maze. these pictures definitely show how hard it is to get 1 decent picture of charlie – especially outside. he is constantly running, pointing at things, imitating noises, etc. he is full of energy and so fun to take new places.

loving on mommy. he is loving “nose” kisses and “eye” kisses (butterfly kisses). it is precious. he will say “more mama” when he wants more eye or nose kisses.
