i'm on a boat

don't you ever forget it.

i got a nautical themed pashmina afghan.

p.s. -- bill wrote this post. he thinks it's really funny, but nobody else does.

a day in the life of charlie

i cannot believe our littlest is almost 12 weeks old. here are some of charlie's favorite activities and a bit of what his days look like.
wake up between 230am and 4am for a little snack.
go back to sleep
wake up at 630am for breakfast.
start the party - smiling, cooing, ready to rock for the day.
we usually do some reading, which is one of his favorite activities. he becomes really still and focuses on the pages and now that he is swatting at things his hands are constantly hitting the pages. who knew an 11 week old would be so focused!

reading his favorite - "the very hungie bungie caterpillar"

by then it is usually time for a nap, which involves some fussing or screaming - depending on the day. if it works in the schedule i load him in the jogger so i can go for a run or walk with lily.

then it is back up to have a morning snack - charlie doesn't miss a meal!

some of his other favorite activities are standing up, looking in the mirror or hanging out under the activity mat or in the bouncy chair. charlie loves swatting and hitting things. he is getting really good at grabbing the links or rattles.
here he is with Addison - who is one week older than Charliehanging out with lily - what a good doggie.

put in a few more naps, meals, baby bjorn time, walks, and we get to bath time.
we have started bathing him every night to "signal" bedtime is near. i think it helps because getting him to fall asleep at night is not an issue - naps are a different story.

cuddling with dad to get warm

he ends his night with a snack and then falls asleep peacefully. he is such a joy - bill and i just love being his parents.

yep - i'm starting a blog!

hi family and friends - i finally broke down and decided to start a blog. i love keeping up with other families by following their blogs and thought it would be a great way to record the adventures we have over these coming years. enjoy :)
