New Years Eve - SARS 1st Home series race

Bill and Dave sitting hill side for the first race. They were taking a quick break in between their volunteer efforts.

so nice to have a sunny race day.

Ellie!!! She wanted so badly to ski all the gates correctly - she did it and skied fast!

Claire!

Claire skied hard and got to the end and said "whoa - i felt like i was going to crash the whole time" ha! It is why she skied so fast -- living life on the edge.

Ellie wanted so badly to get a trophy like Claire. Ellie got 5th, which was amazing. The girls beat many girls who were 8! Being in the top 10 in skiing is a great accomplishment.

 she wasn't  thrilled.

Claire won! Her first time getting 1st. I doubt it will be her (or Ellie's last). It was a hard parenting moment though. We were thrilled for Claire and Ellie, but Ellie was devastated and Claire was so excited but also holding back a bit because she could see Ellie was disappointed. I do think we will work through issues many girls deal with just at an earlier age.

 Claire

sadly this is the only photo I could grab of Charlie (I was dealing with the girls at the time). He is a first year U10 so is on the younger side of this age group. He skied awesome and got 8th. Again - top 10 is awesome! So proud of him!

by that evening the girls had turned a corner and were happy with their results.

how sweet is this.

we had a lot of new years eve parties to attend so we went to our neighbors and they started with early fireworks.

lanterns first.

sparklers and then real fireworks happened.

our friends the Bruya's put on insane fireworks and this is a picture they took of their fireworks. they were basically professional.
ellie and luke were so tired by the end!

1st race of 2017 season results -proud of these kids.

After 9 days being at the mountain, it was time to pack up and head back home to get ready for school the next day. I love being up at Schweitzer and escaping from all of the crazy. We love skiing and spending time by the fire and together! What a wonderful break!

Christmas & SARS camp days

Christmas day - was skiing and lots of family fun. My parents left late in the evening and Tom and Jennie left the next morning. The kids started their SARS camp the 26th and it was lots of skiing and fun friend time for us all.

Claire!

The girls are wanting friends to play with up at the mountain so I encouraged them to invite some friends over after skiing. Emma was the first friend to come over and it was awesome. The girls went to her place a different night which they were thrilled about!

Girls playing with the spirograph.

after not moving my car for 8 or so days it was buried! I wanted to get it out a few days before we have to leave on the 1st. it was a chore!

But Bill did it!

in line at musical chairs to start our day. we leave our condo about 8ish then leave the ski room 15-20 min later and then we get on musical chairs at 8:30 and drop kids at 8:45am. it is a snappy morning!

the pictures seem the same, but it is just so amazing!

Christmas Eve gift opening...

Our favorite part is when the kids do their gift exchange with each other and us.

ellie got this weird eagle wooden sculpture thing and it is still next to her bed. ha.

claire got a cute jacket from nana.

ellie loved her jacket as well.

Hamilton ornaments for all the kids - Who lives. Who Dies. Who tells your story!

uncle tom with the special bead dog ellie made of miki!

Claire was thrilled with her drone! it was a hit while it lasted. it got caught in both girls' hair and had to be cut out and then broke after day 5. perfect. ha

charlie got a stack of calvin and hobbes. he loves them.

ellie got a little lamb that she asked for.

nana and g pops got an awesome latte maker from all the kids.

big swing for our backyard from nana and g pops!

charlie got a lockbox!

the kids were so good we didn't have to use our "burn" present. ha

wakeboard!! the kids were sort of scared that this means they need to do more wakeboard and less tubing behind the boat this year.

we were having so much fun we almost missed Santa on the firetruck! Thankfully one of my neighbors was out there and ran after the truck so the kids could go down.

sprinting to santa! it isn't the meaning of Christmas, but it sure makes Christmas Eve fun!

claire proud of her drone driving.

this lazer x game is a hit!

still lots of tears, but that is normal in our house.
What a wonderful Christmas Eve with some of our family. Thankful to have my parents with us and my brother and Jennie.
