Pappy turns 60!

yesterday, April 4th, our dear Pappy turned 60! The entire family drove to Rochester because Bill was going to have to work late so we could have a fun dinner with him. I am so thankful for family that is flexible and cares enough to work around Bill’s schedule.

our whole group before dinner started. too bad our waitress didn’t focus the picture right.

after some appetizers (which were gone in 1 second) we gave Pappy the book we had put together “60 things we love about our Pappy”.

he was deeply touched and started tearing up instantly (kidding about the tearing up thing).

Bill started off reading the our first 20 to Pappy.

then pete took over the next 20 that he and margit wrote.

then dotes wrapped it up with the last 20.

then we busted out a gift basket full of Tom’s favorite things…wasabi peas, peanut m&ms, nuts from fleet farm, parmesan cheese, rice crackers, the list goes on.

this is a maybe the weirdest photo I have taken of bill. he was leaning over to pose with his tall ginger beer, but it looks odd.

some candles were brought out so we could sing to Tom.

obviously I was the only one that got the memo that we were taking a group photo.

and he’s sixty!
