growing up

charlie is growing up so fast! he is communicating well and really growing into a sweet, considerate boy. he has his moments, but that is only expected for a 3 yr old. the other day charlie had his friend miller over to play. they play really well together and it is fun to watch them pretend different things together. miller is a year older than charlie so I think that helps their communication and play. at one point while the boys were playing ellie joined in. I left the room and they were all having a fun time. then I heard charlie crying pretty hard – I thought for sure he was hurt. I went into the room to find charlie really sad and almost hurt because miller had tackled or laid on ellie for a bit. everyone was fine, but I thought it was so sweet that he was that effected by how ellie was treated. it makes me hopeful that he will be a very protective big brother in high school!

that night addison came over to play and charlie did another sweet thing. at a different play date with addison charlie and addison had a scuffle over this certain train called kevin. they worked it out that time, but I had forgotten about it. as soon as charlie saw addison come down the stairs yesterday he ran and got kevin and handed it to him. I thought it was so thoughtful! don’t worry – later during the playdate he definitely took a car or something – he is still a 3 yr old.
