Charlie Wart Removal!

Charlie finally agreed to get his wart removed by Bill before school started so after the pool we headed to Bill's office. Claire was the most excited because she got to put on a bunny suit to see the laser in the OR.

this picture is just so cute!

Kacee - a nurse at Bill's work stayed late and helped run the laser. I'm so thankful she stayed and helped. It was a great thing to get these off his hands!

Bill took something small of his hand as a trial to see how it worked and felt. ha.

do you see the smoke coming off the wart zapping?

the nasty pit it left.

Camp Spaulding Discovery Camp for Charlie!

The day after we returned from Yellowstone - Charlie headed off to his first sleep away camp!! He went with Brendan his best buddy from school and went to Camp Spaulding. Phoebe, our beloved babysitter, is a counselor there this year so it made it really easy for me have him go. So easy I didn't even drive him up for the drop off - ha! He rode up with Brendan's mom and she sent me pictures.
Charlie and Brendan with their 2 cabin counselors.

ready to go!

Camp Spaulding is GORGEOUS!! I had no idea until pickup on Saturday.

Meanwhile life was pretty easy in Spokane - me and these two went to the pool every afternoon and spent time doing normal life stuff. I will say - just having E&C for a few days there was less fighting!

Enjoying another summer at the Spokane Racquet Club pool!

Bill was in charge of teaching sunday school on Sunday so he prepped his craft for his lesson. Normal people would have done a print out of a grape vine and had kids color it. Bill had them create vines with fruit that attached to a "vine" (a huge branch we brought back from Schweitzer) and then create an empty vine that would be thrown away at home. Very applicable but not the normal sunday school craft.

At Camp Spaulding Saturday mid-morning to pick up Charlie.

I spy him! He hadn't seen us yet. When he did - he had to stay in his group so he gave us a wave. It was pretty cute - how cool he remained.

the closing ceremony had some singing, a quick message overview, prayer and then ended with a highlight reel.

the campus was beautiful.

the boys explaining a game, which when boiled down was basically catch up and over the net.

Thankful that Charlie was able to have this opportunity to have his own experiences and start being mentored in his walk with the Lord through older counselors.

Charlie turns 9 on April 9th!

Charlie's GOLDEN birthday!  Starting with Breakfast in bed!

I was at his school for lunch with a balloon and cupcake! Then saw him present his poster in his classroom and he handed out krispy kremes.

Charlie's dinner choice was strognaff and also shelled mac n cheese on the side with caesar salad.

I went easy and did a huge Costco cake. We ate 5 small pieces and then sent it to work with Bill. ha.

I see glimpses of Charlie as a little boy and also as a young man. Can't believe he is 9!

Bill imitating Charlie's smile with the big choppers.

Charlie opened his Hamilton Piano music! Me, Bill and Charlie also did a little lip sync to Take a Break - where Philip turns 9. It was a hit!

new books! he has already read them all.

Nerf guns!

a ripstick - adding to our outdoor toys.

So BIG!

Charlie - ready for combat! Charlie had been desperately wanting (and needing a bigger) Bike. He was hoping for a Mountain bike. We found an awesome new bike and Bubba and Pappy pitched in for it. As Charlie was finished opening these gifts - Bill went to our neighbor's garage and got the new bike. I said to Charlie - are you happy with your gifts? He was pumped about the nerf guns, etc and so I said "are you ok not getting your Mountain Bike right now then?". At that point he realized he hadn't gotten it and was doing his best to deal with the sadness when Bill came riding into our kitchen. He SQUEALED with delight. It was a fun extra surprise.

so pumped! still wearing his nerf gun glasses.

don't mind my weird stance - I have no idea what I am doing.

Charlie had a GREAT day! So proud of the young man he is growing into and that he loves the Lord.

Claire ended the day with a big bouquet of the spring flowers in our yard!
