March!!!

Into to March...(catching up a bit...story of my life).
These drawings have been on my fridge at the Bach and I just love them. This is Ellie's drawing for me.

This is a drawing Auntie Margit drew and Ellie helped color in the parts she didn't want left white. Ellie wishes Margit was her mom because she is such a talented artist (and probably nicer too)

Another gem from Ellie.

this is in the building below us, but we were shocked at the amount of snow hanging over the roof. Roof slides are really dangerous up at Schweitzer. Kids have been buried when they are caught at the wrong time. This was really wet and heavy snow and it was crazy to watch it just hang over. When you are sleeping and hear the snow sliding from your roof it is INSANE!!! Sounds like an earthquake.

The weekend before my birthday, I had a genius idea with our friends -- we had a babysitter at our condo with our 12 kids and the 5 pairs of adults went to Shelly and Simon's condo for dinner. It worked out like a dream. Bill was thinking ahead (my birthday was the following monday) and he picked up cupcakes and surprised me with them after dinner.

more of the overhang with the icicles!

another race for Charlie. He placed 6th or 7th again....being in the top 10 is great!

it was a cold day and i spent most of my time with the girls here and...

at the outback with the biggest best rice krispy treats ever!

March 6th! I'm 35! seems crazy to say that. Love these kids of mine. We went out to a fancy mexican restaurant, which I actually wanted. Had a big margarita, chips and salsa and other real food I think. Then celebrated with an assortment of cakes.

the kids eyeing up my cake selection.

notice claire being weird. again.

random - but i was at my physical therapy appointment, which is the same company that i take classes at and i noticed my back on their new promo. ha! my instructor friend had snapped it and used it and she texted me that i saw it before she had a chance to tell me.

more proof that Auntie Margit would be a better mom than me. She sent these in the mail. The kids were in love!!

March madness continues!!!

Alexander the Great...

Charlie had a History presentation for school. He had to make a poster and do a presentation on Alexander the Great. He did a great job.

he did a great job during his presentation! clear, articulate, remembered everything (never a hard thing for him). he really did all the poster himself!

his class singing their history song in their costumes.

SARS Home Series Race

driving across the bridge.

The kids had a race on Saturday at the end of Feb. Ellie!

the STARS kids...

Claire!

here they come! Both girls did awesome. Ellie really went for it and killed her first run. Her second run she was going a bit too fast and missed a gate. She was bummed, but I was happy to see her really going for it. Claire made all the gates and did well too! She was more into making the gates than going as fast as she can.

This is all I got from Charlie's runs. I have video, but no photos. He did awesome. He skied hard and focused. He placed 7th.

this is how Claire and Ellie spent the entire time we were watching Charlie and his race.

waiting for the awards ceremony. love the spots the girls scored.

Ellie and Claire getting their medals.

Charlie getting his medal.

I emptied out pockets of ski gear so I could wash everything. Ellie is our little pack rat and she had so much stuff packed in her pockets!
proud of the hard work the kids have put into their skiing this year. love seeing their improvement and how quickly they can get their gear on!

Schmitt Family Schweitzer Vacation

Saturday night, Feb 18th, the Schmitt family all arrived at Schweitzer. Laura and Tom rented the condo across the hall from us and so we had enough space for everyone. Sunday morning it was a blast sitting around having coffee and seeing everyone!

Ellie was delighted to jump back into her role as caretaker of Janie.

Claire spent more time working Janie's hair at first.

Claire's new thing is to be weird for the camera. Hope she grows out of it quickly!

 Ellie helping Mary feed Janie.

all the girl cousins with Uncle Elliot!

fireworks for President's Day. watched them right from our balcony!

The snow kept coming all week! Fresh powder each morning!

Pappy with Ellie and Charlie.

There were many mornings - Charlie, Bill and myself got to go out skiing. This day we brought Laura and Dotes out to check out the powder. I have more pictures from skiing, but can't find them...they will come soon.

Thursday midday we headed back to Spokane to hang out at our house there.

Uncle Pete brought the violins he had designed for Schmitt Music that he named the Ellie Claire to Ellie and Claire. How precious is that??

love seeing the Ellie Claire in there.

Friday morning we all went to Chaps for brunch and then they all flew back to Minneapolis.

It was a blast having the cousins play together and really start to play together and have fun. I can't wait until Summer for some more fun!
