We spent Easter in Hudson this year and it was a quick trip up on Saturday night and back on Sunday night, but so great to see family.
before we left for church we took a quick family picture. as always getting a picture of everyone looking just right never happens so I have to include a few of them because I like things from each of them.
I love charlie’s smile in this one. presh.
everyone is looking towards the camera here.
this is where ellie decided she wasn’t going to look at the camera so I bribed her by saying that if she looked at the camera I would give her a jelly bean when we were done. sometimes you just need to do it.
guess what – she instantly turned around and gave me this look. claire wasn’t quite on point here.
thanks charlie.
oh well – it was an experience.
my elaborate easter egg hunt after lunch. since the girls just had their birthdays and charlie’s is next week I don’t really like giving more things for Easter. The main point is that we celebrate our risen Lord. I decided to just set out a few easter eggs after lunch for the kids to grab before naps.
that turned out to be a not-so-good idea. here is ellie going for her first egg.
charlie was a pro.
ellie would just stop at the egg, bust it open and shove the 1 or 2 jelly beans in her mouth.
claire showing off her egg hunting, jelly bean eating skills.
charlie’s growing basket.
bubba got the girls new sandals.
claire needed some help opening a few eggs.
ellie’s mouth is stuffed full.
ellie was cracking me up. she probably didn’t really eat that many jelly beans, but apparently a lot more sugar than she is used to because she didn’t nap that afternoon.
charlie showing off her loot.
after “naps” (no one napped – which never happens – due to too much sugar). we drove into edina to have a big dinner with Bill’s extended fam. it was so great to see everyone and I didn’t snap any pictures because I was too busy keeping the girls under wraps. It was a delightful Easter and so fun to spend time with family celebrating Christ’s resurrection!
