With christmas being on a tuesday this year, Bill took off Christmas Eve (monday) since he had the weekend off, which is making it a 4 day weekend! it has been such a blessing having bill off last weekend and this weekend – something we are definitely not used to. We kicked off our Christmas celebrations by hanging out at home in the morning.
I know 3 kids who were delighted to just be with their dad.
then we did a little dancing to Go Fish’s “JOY to the World” song. I looked over at them and they were all doing the hand signals for J.O.Y. so cute!
claire.
then nana and g. pops showed up after naptime. they made a stop to hang out with us and see the kids on their way to MT. my dad just had a scope surgery so he was laid up a bit, but that didn’t stop the kids from climbing all over him!
before bed cuddling with pops. bill and I actually went out to dinner and then stopped over at becca & mikel’s house to spend some time with baby nolan and visit with b+m. I love grandparent babysitters.
a little grinch watching before bed. I’m going to guess and say that the girls stayed there for 4 seconds. they do everything really well for just about 4 seconds.
sunday morning we went to church and then bill and charlie took off to go skiing at welch. the rest of us packed up the highlander and headed to tom & laura’s house for a dinner with my aunt chris, uncle tom and cousins griffin and grace. what fUN!
the presents under the tree waiting for Christmas Eve morning.
charlie and bill arrived home from skiing mid-afternoon. charlie was giddy with excitement to share about his experiences and to show off that he was able to drink a PowerAde. I wouldn’t say bill feeds him the most nutritious foods while skiing. the point is having fun, not eating right.
eleanore.
claire. both girls were pumped to have both grandparents together!
elliot and dotes.
as claire would now say “mom!”. classic – I’m already just “mom”.
goofing.
grace and griffin have arrived!
we were preparing to open a couple of gifts with griffin and grace and I noticed charlie was picking his nose (nothing new here!). I told him “finger out of the nose” and then he pulled it out and looked up at griffin with this face. I love griffin’s expression. I have to add – griffin and grace are such outstanding teenagers. I am so thankful my kids have such great role models. I only wish we could see them more often!
the kids dug into the gifts griffin and grace brought.
I know some little boy who still loves cars. you can tell by grace’s face that charlie was really pumped up!
ok – these dresses are AMAZING! they are so pretty and I just love them. eleanore and claire liked opening them, but were not interested in taking a picture with them.
they brought charlie 4 wrapped cars and it was so classic because after he opened the first one he went to open the second and it was as if he had no idea what was in it. I think by the 4th car he finally had it figured out. but he had the same response to each opened car. he is one passionate little boy!
discussing the details of the cars.
so delighted yet again!
love this picture!
the dresses were so cute we had to put the girls in them right away. claire is in the polka dot and ellie is in the red.
love!
claire’s visa smile.
this is so sweet. them checking out each other’s dress. I love the bows on the back.
reading with auntie dotes before bed.
the cars instantly transported charlie to his own little car world. pappy was checking it out.
what a SWEET pictures.
griffin filling up his plate.
nana.
me (fuzzy) and grace.
before bed the girls had found their way into bubba and pappy’s bedroom and were fighting over the ipad. sorry girls – no one gets it.
this is where my photos ended because we were all sitting around the dinner table having a blast. I can’t believe we didn’t snap one photo of my aunt chris or uncle tom! it was a great night and we went to bed tired from laughing. Go 2016! (joke from that night – I had a great one-liner)
