green bay is now “geen” bay because that is what charlie has been calling it. me and the kids drove over on thursday afternoon. almost immediately after arriving charlie had to get a ride on pop’s skid steer.
loving moving dirt.
this boy loves the skid steer.
friday morning – claire practicing a new carrying technique with pops.
ellie and claire had fun pushing each other in the doll stroller.
ellie getting a bucking bronco ride from pops.
claire enjoys getting pushed around the most.
my cousins joy and laura came over with joy’s two kids – jude and max – to play friday morning. joy and her family live in atlanta and were heading home that afternoon so I was so glad to catch up and see them.
claire and eleanore were very interested in max and continued pat him on the head. max handled it well thankfully.
another exciting thing that happened was that g. pops was trapping chipmunks and relocating them to a park nearby. he doesn’t like that they are digging holes in his landscaping. I am sure he is separating families. either way, charlie and the kids thoroughly enjoyed watching the chipmunk in the cages.
both pointing. claire – eleanore.
during naps, auntie suz arrived with her “friend” grant. after the kids woke up we packed up and took the boat to my aunt and uncle’s house to go swimming. here are suzanne and grant with claire and ellie.
charlie had found some of my brothers old legos and fell.in.love with them. apparently there is something cooler about the microscopic choking hazard pieces than the duplos we have at home. he had to bring them everywhere.
the kids are always a handful on the boat.
sadly, I didn’t get any pictures of us at the pool. we had a blast and I thought my camera was out of battery so I didn’t take any. then I realized it was just freaking out a bit. so I only have a few pictures of the fun time we had.
more lego playing. charlie told bill on the phone last night – “daddy, I love playing with legos”.
the girls were wasted after the pool. here is claire waiting to drive the boat home with pops.
ellie is a determined little driver.
claire finally warmed up and giving grant a high five.
this is classic. this is the last picture I have of charlie from friday night.
this is the first picture I have of charlie from today – saturday morning.
after hanging out this morning, we rallied and headed to bay beach with the kids.
me and my kiddos.
we hit the carousel for a warmup. claire is getting pumped.
claire was riding a packer horse. only in geebz.
suz was with ellie.
a little blurry, but still cute.
way to go nana!
I thought it was so cute that charlie was holding grant’s hand.
on to the real rides. the boat ride was up first. I was a little worried they might crawl out and into the water, but they did great.
next up – race cars. prior to getting into the cars, g. pops had a pep talk with charlie and gave him some pointers.
charlie and ellie. I love how ellie has her hands on the wheel – all ready to go.
claire.
loving it. he went on twice.
this shows all 3. during the beginning part of the rides – claire and ellie were usually stunned and would just sit and observe. by the end they were putting their hands on the wheels and turning.
claire watching charlie go again.
I can’t believe last year when we were here they slept in a bjorn or moby wrap the entire time.
on to the fire trucks.
going around.
claire is focused and ellie is glancing around and trying to use claire’s wheel!
switch to ladybugs. sometimes it didn’t look like the girls were having a blast, but they were just so focused! whenever we took claire off the ride she would throw a mini tantrum.
on this ride I was sure ellie was going to slip down under the steering wheel. she kept standing up under her buckle.
charlie did this swing ride. eleanore was so mad she couldn’t do it.
charlie on the fighter jets. not sure I love the gun thing.
at this point it was getting pretty hot. we waited through 2 rides of the helicopters until it was our turn. then there was only 1 helicopter left so who was the luck duck to get to hold all 3 kids….me! it was actually pretty fun, but by the end ellie was losing it.
we wrapped up our morning with a quick snack in the shade where claire got to check out these ponies. I won’t
suz, grant and I went to Los Banditos to grab lunch while nana and g. pops took the kids home for lunch. they snapped these shots of the girls laughing at lunch.
we ended the night with water skiing. it was a blast. I went first.
charlie was pumped! claire screamed when I took off because she was nervous.
up! first time this year.
grant’s second time up on skis. at the end of the night he tried to get up on one and basically had it, but once he got up he couldn’t get balanced.
claire was so intensely focused on whoever was skiing. very concerned.
auntie suz’s turn!
focused.
then g. pops showed off a bit.
nice work g. pops.
wow – we have only been in geebz for 2 days! stay tuned for more adventures.
