surviving
a part of me feels like I am just keeping my head above water with the things we have going on, but then I look at pictures and realize that the kids are just doing regular life with a lot of things getting packed up and sold around them. they barely notice the things leaving and are loving the extra space and the fact that I don’t care all that much about having piles of toys around.
here is ellie ready to go off shopping.
I love the handbag on each arm. she means business people.
one morning while laura was here the kids were each building their own duplo houses. ellie took hers very seriously (are you seeing a theme – Ellie is very intense about all things she does).
charlie’s house.
Ellie putting a duplo guy down to nap.
ellie showing off her house.
claire’s house was a bit more open. she is a bit more on the artistic side.
charlie’s finished house.
ellie really worked on her house and had a lot of parts to it.
she wanted to have both princesses in the castle thing.
the weather finally warmed up this past week (only lasted 5 days because tonight we are supposed to have snow) and we had a lunch picnic on the deck.
they both laid down for a bit. I love that they were facing towards each other here.
lunch went ok – there were lots of spilled plates and both Ellie & Claire tried to eat their lunches while laying down.
Ellie reading one morning while wearing a sweet dress that was Sadie’s.
Claire also wore a dress that was Sadie’s and I busted her trying to get something off the counter.
this past weekend we decided to try to put the girls on their crib mattresses but ON THE FLOOR. they actually did a pretty good job with staying on their “beds” and slept the whole night like that. I was up a few times with them sad because they were off the beds or something. we basically wanted to see how they would do out of their cribs since we need to transition to that when we arrive in NZ. after seeing that they did an ok job on their first night we decided to stick them back in their cribs since it would be much easier for my mom and laura to implement. we will see how our strategy works when we arrive in NZ.
here is claire on her bed.
ellie on her bed.
