Yellowstone Dad's Fly Fishing Trip!!!

Bill met up with Pappy, Pete and Paul on Saturday - June 16th for a guys & kids trip. Bill mentioned it to Pappy months ago and I am so thankful they ran with the idea because the trip looks amazing. I decided to just ride along on the drive to Bozeman and hang out with my parents for 4 days - something I don't think I have ever done. It was a great kickoff to summer for all of us.

Here are the pictures...they stayed at 320 ranch and had fly fishing lessons to kick off the trip.

claire - it was an unusually cold and wet weekend in the big sky area so the kids wore lots of layers.

everyone fit in our car! I love that about our big vehicle - it is so helpful to fit a large group.

no you aren't seeing things...that is a BUFFALO behind Ellie!

Pappy with his new fly fishing clan.

the guide explaining different bugs - of course the kids were all over it!

Bill told me there were "firm wide boundaries" -- lots of fun, crazy play, but some serious rules like you HAVE to have your sunglasses on when you are fishing. The kids loved the freedom.

Charlie and his guide in the water. He did great - they all caught fish.

This picture is one of my favorites! I juts can't get over her face and the face of the poor fish that is getting squeezed extra hard.

Claire was feeling cold so Bill stuck her feet in a geo thermal water way (so illegal by the way) and this is her reaction and realizing how HOT the water was.

Bill and Ellie.

Pappy and Ellie!

Ellie saw the horsey on a stick and it was decided that it was HER momento for the trip.

Ellie petting a terrified fish.

Claire's momento that she found and HAD to have. So cute.

What a trip! So thankful for time spent with family.

Meanwhile....I was with my parents doing hiking, resting, eating, puzzling...it was perfect.
