Becca comes to visit!

Becca came to visit me!!! 

We had pedis and then dinner with Julia on Wednesday evening before we headed to the mountain. 

We eventually got out for a hike mid morning and then headed into Sandpoint for a delicious lunch. 

then the best part of the day started. we climbed back in bed around 3:30 - light rain was falling - and we adjusted the bed to have our heads and feet propped up and then started watching our first movie. It was glorious. No responsibility, cozy, sleepy, whatever we wanted. We then started out next movie....

we started to get a few hunger pangs so grabbed some cheese and apples and crackers and wine....then finished our second movie. after that we really got ready for bed...and then slowly flattened our backs and feet out until we decided to crash. ha! 

the next morning we woke up refreshed and happy! 

We eventually headed to CDA and had delicious sushi and a nice hang out by the water. By 2:30 we picked up the kids and our bubble was burst, but worth it to have the kids be with becca for a bit. So thankful you took the time away from your family to spend time with me! Filled me up for back to school time! 

end of july!

We decided to start introducing "tablets" to our kids and started with the Amazon Kindle Fire kids edition. Currently they are only allowed to be read on. This is Claire reading on the deck - just like her dad normally does. So cute.

After I returned - we all headed out for some huckleberry picking. 

it is amazing how much work this takes. 

Claire did the whole hike up and bushwhacked around in her sandals because she forgot her tennis shoes. She didn't complain though! 

Sunday the girls picked me wildflowers...so pretty!

Charlie and Bill went out for a mountain bike ride - they went from the roundabout down the mountain to the base! it was a big ride with lots of steep downhills. A few crashes from Charlie - again some more pushing to do hard things. Bill told me he took a big crash as well...not as pleased about that.

just an incredible place. Love that we are on Lake Pend Oreille every weekend!

Last winter weekend up at the Bach

The weekend after Schweitzer closed for the ski season we headed up to hang out for the night. It was a gorgeous weekend up there with still plenty of snow on the mountain. 

I took Lily out for a snowshoe up the mountain on Sunday. We were cruising for awhile until we ran into BIG paw prints and I realized I wasn't very prepared for being on a large very quiet mountain. 

We walked through the quiet village. So strange to see it so still. It will  soon be buzzing again with summertime activity, but we had it almost all alone. 

Sunday midday we loaded up and went into Sandpoint to cruise around. We ended up at Powderhound pizza where we had a drink and some pizza in the sun. It was glorious! 

Bill took the kids to grab ice cream -- summer is here!
