Mid-Winter Break and end of February

We headed up after school Friday for our Mid-Winter break! It is such a great break in the middle of Feb!

the snow just kept coming all week!

the pictures don't show much, but it was dumping snow!

Tom entertained a group of boys with his banjo.

after some powder days a blue sky day was just what we needed!

this never gets old!

the sky house is so pretty

snacks in the lodge.

these two! Ellie and Claire

we had a family ski day on Tuesday of our week and did some exploring and found the Lightning Tree and the Grandfather Tree.

The Grandfather Tree

Bill did some hot sauce testing with the kids at the Outback....ick!

The Lightning Tree!!! Ellie climbed inside.

we headed home for 2 days while Bill worked and we hung out. then headed back up to the mountain for Friday-Sunday.

It had been really cold for the week of break. My face was so freezing and Bill's nose got frost bite so we found this goretex-windstopper face mask to add to our collection. ha

do you spot the kid climbing the tree??

i look unrecognizable but it works!

more family skiing together on Friday. Was fun to be able to ski together.

Girls had their first sleepover at the mountain. Colette and Emma slept over!

Bill is a champ and played bean boozled with them and pie face.

easy to see the fireworks from our deck.

Katie had a birthday so we all went out for it. Was fun to celebrate with this group.

bummer it is crooked, but love these little notes from ellie.

Oaks Winter 2018

Q3 report cards were awesome for the kids. The stuff the teachers write about the kids is amazing.
Charlie

Eleanore

Claire

Charlie was assigned Odysseus in The Odyssey - his 3rd grade play.  First off - this is the set for the 3rd grade play! So many moms made things!! It was insane.

I knew Charlie had a big part, but I didn't realize until I was there how BIG of a part it was. He was in every scene. It was the first time I was completely BLOWN away at his performance. Normally I see his presentations or speech meets many time and we work things so when I see it presented it seems pretty normal.

This we did a few run through with the lines, but never had the whole thing so just went it and were wowed! Tom and Laura were able to be at the play which was so special for Charlie.

the girls got to watch him and were so proud!

Charlie and Brendan

Valentine's Day Bill brought home flowers for all of the girls!

The kids were recognized for memorizing their next Proverbs. Ellie and Claire have memorized Proverbs 1 and Charlie has completed Proverbs 5 & 6!
