Saturday fun

After Charlie’s soccer game we did some fun stuff and then saw a costume sale at a dance studio by our house.  we stopped and scored some seriously awesome costumes before heading home.

We arrived home – put on costumes and stopped out to visit with Spencer – our next door neighboor (who is beyond nice). he was driving his wicked fast remote control car (even Bill was amazed by it) around and the kids were loving it. Spencer even let Charlie drive it!

Later - while enjoying dinner last night we giggled until our bellies hurt over Ellie and her antics.

First she started off by just eating this apple – ALL of it. we stopped her here because we were ready to move on with dessert. I love how this girl always does things 110% – even eating the apple – core, seeds and all.

then she took this normal picture.

then she busted this GEM out! We could NOT stop laughing when looking at it!

Sunday night Spencer and Jack (the other boy neighbor on our left) took the car in our narly backyard and the kids were loving it.

we ended up sitting on that big wall and watching the kids run the car in the track they made in the empty yard behind us. It was so fun to watch!

the weather has been incredible! 80 or so during the day and hot enough you could easily go swimming (although we have no pool) and then cool at night. every day is a blue sky day too - amazing!

Dalton during the game. The blue jaguars tore it up and won again – they are probably scoring 15+ goals. So glad charlie has gotten 1 each game.

We love watching you play soccer Charlie!

E&C’s first day of preschool!

After a lot of looking around and hemming and hawing on my part I finally settled on a preschool for E&C this year. They will be attending Miss Mary’s Preschool, which is a small in home preschool that has been in Spokane for years. A few families in our neighborhood go there and people who have been there LOVE it. Mary was an elementary school teacher previously – then stayed home with her kids and then decided to do her own school later. The nice part is she has 3 day a week kids – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 2 day kids are Thursday and Friday mornings (9-12) which works better for our schedule. The girls were PUMPED to go on their first day!

waiting for Miss Mary to open the garage door. It is a small little community and it has been fun to chat with other moms and families while waiting for the kids. I also love getting an update from Mary each pick up. So personal! DSC_3974

Once I signed them in they both barely flinched – they ran in and were ready to go. So proud of these two go getters!

officially a soccer mom

Charlie started Soccer last week and had his first game this past Saturday. I feel like we are entering a new era – the having commitments on Saturday mornings era. It was super exciting to have Nana visiting for his first game (although I don’t think I took 1 picture of her! Horrible me!).

Starting the big morning off right with a hearty breakfast.

DSC_3945

The start of the game caused some nerves from Charlie, but we were proud when he decided to pull it together and join his team.

DSC_3946

Coach Mickey and Coach Chad are great.

DSC_3947

DSC_3948

Charlie is #2, which is awesome because my brother – Danny – was  always #2. Charlie randomly came up with “number 2 to the rescue!” as his slogan, which I thought was pretty witty.

DSC_3951

DSC_3952

Some of the players on Charlie’s team are the youngest in the family (with other siblings who play soccer) and MAN can you tell! I can see in E&C how much more aggressive they are than charlie and it shows on the soccer field. Charlie can pull some great moves, but he plays more of a defensive stance than offensive.

DSC_3953

DSC_3954

You can spot Charlie because he wore his black pants with neon green on them – he didn’t believe us that kids would all be wearing the same thing. lesson learned – we will see if he catches on for this week.

in ACTION!

DSC_3956

he even scored a goal! It was a bit of a shoe in, but he was there when it counted!
