every afternoon after the kids wake up with naps we have been playing on our deck. the kids love the water table and cozy coupes. I love the shade. originally I was filling up the water table by carrying buckets of water to it (it is nice to have it a bit lukewarm on windy days). but bill had the genius idea of filling it up through out window. check this out! I just hold up the nozzle of my kitchen sink to the screen, determine what temp I want, and spray! works perfect!
we have been to the RAC pool quite a few times, but it is just crazy busy while we are there and utterly impossible to take pictures. my reality at the pool is this: charlie is pretty safe. he can play alone in the sand area safely. he also knows he needs to wear his swim vest and he can manage in the water pretty well with that. the girls however are seriously dangerous. claire likes to walk herself deep into the water –about up to her chin- (it is a zero entry pool) and dunk her face under. all without you touching her (yeah right!). then ellie prefers to touch her toes into the water and then run out and sit on the lawn chairs and dig through other people's bags. fun times. I have done it a few times alone when the pool has been less busy and my friends have been around, but totally alone is pretty much out of the question for me. it would be seriously dangerous. hopefully as the summer goes on they will get easier, but being on the deck is probably the most relaxing thing.
