snow storm...in october???

last friday, october 21st, we had a snow storm! it started as rain then turned to slush and then big beautiful snow flakes! i couldn't wait to show charlie. we missed the first snow fall this year (oct 12th!) when we were in florida.

starting to relax...

evaluating a snowball...

thinking about taking a bite...

going in for a taste...

not too sure - it is too cold!

bath time

every night we bathe charlie and every night he does this march into the bathroom for his bath. it cracks us up every time. he is so serious and happy about what is about to happen.

ps. i have been posting like crazy these past few days because i have actually had a little time to catch up. i also have a new found motivation to capture our daily highlights on here because i found a few websites that take your blogs and convert them into photobooks. yeah! so now i will be creating a blog photobook each year with our blog posts.

wwf wrestling

charlie's preferred activity at this time - wwf tag team family wrestling.

walking toward the ocean

this video is of charlie walking towards the ocean when we were in florida 2 weeks ago. you can see his increased anxiety the closer we get to the waves. it is going to be interesting to see how his cautious personality develops the older he gets.

6 month checkup

charlie is 17 lbs - 15 ounces and 26 inches long! he jumped up to the 50th percentile in weight and height. solids made all the difference for this boy. his head circumference is the biggest shocker - he is in the 93rd percentile - WOW. charlie had 4 vaccines today and goes on saturday to get his H1N1 shot. i will be very happy once he has that.

this picture is to show that his head does not look like it is WAY too big for his body :). actually this picture is probably over a month old, but i just found it and thought it was too cute.
here is the real comparison - charlie at 1 week old with lily.

charlie at 6 months with lily. what a big boy!

our pumpkin in a pumpkin patch

this past weekend, we went to sekapps a little mini farm near town that has an open produce market and pumpkins. it was a beautiful day, charlie was not too smiley, but he is still dang cute.

where i scored a mother load of squash! i think bill was embarrassed. there are 20 squash and that i fit into a bushel bag for $18 - but i only had to pay $8 because i had $10 free dollars for sekapps - not weasting!!!

checking out the different textures. finally a little happy on daddy's shoulders.

he was into the scenery that day - not the camera.

we had to weigh our little pumpkin!

our BIG pumpkin that is - the scale said 18 1/2 pounds. (he is probably not really 18 1/2 pounds, but with clothes and a full diaper - maybe :)).

charlie's first airplane ride

charlie and i went to marco island to visit my mom and dad who were there for a month. suzanne also met us there for most of the week we were there. it was a wonderful vacation, but we definitely missed bill (who had to stay home and work!). the really great part was that in florida they were having record hot temps and at home we had record low temperatures and SNOW on october 12th!!! don't tell anyone, but i was kind of sad to miss the first snow fall. i always love the beginning of winter.

charlie's first plane ride went great. it was a mid morning flight so that helped. but he really didn't nap until late afternoon when we were picked up from the airport. he crashed in the carseat on the way to marco island.
he was very happy to get on the floor and play with g pops and auntie suzanne.

then we decided to take him down to the ocean...charlie definitely takes awhile to adjust to new situations. the ocean was sooo hot so we didn't think he would mind his feet being put in. from the pictures below you can see he did not feel the same way.
still recovering.
we had to start over - real slow...still very suspicious of the waves

much happier by the pool.

out for a morning walk. it was so humid we could only do short walks in the mornings for charlie's sake.

we spent lots of time in the pool.

ready to go out to dinner

he was in awe of all the action at the crazy flamingo.

my dad was working on remodeling one of the condos so he would work a lot during the day and when he came back charlie was so happy to see him. it was adorable, he loved seeing his g pops.

finally becoming my little beach bum

thanks to the bjorn we survived the airport.
