Our family celebration for Ellie and Claire was awesome. After them begging for the doll cakes that I had made when they were little I decided to go for it. So I busted out these doll cakes. I'm happy I did because they were really happy to see them.
Happy girls in uniform!
big brother between!
we had them open a few presents before dinner.
they had been asking for robes - they were thrilled!
they have also asked about getting pink hair. I got them the spray in pink hair color. They don't have free reign because the stuff is nasty, but they were excited to try it!
opening their new pretty shoes.
Claire - she ended up having to get these in silver because of sizing, but loves the glitter hearts and patent.
Ellie - a new pair of wedges to replace her old ones. She also had to exchange out for a different size, but still a wedge!
ready for cake and dinner!
I love Claire's face while she watches Ellie's moment.
More presents!
bubba and pappy sent pretty swim suits and summer things!
and pretty lipstick - Ellie was happy!
Claire packing out her robe with items.
the gift from Pete & Margit was the gift that trumped everything else that was given...
MAKEUP!!!
these are faces of girls who are VERY happy.
Ellie in particular was all business and very serious about her makeup application. She is a very in control kid and always likes to have her items in order and just as she wants it.
Claire and Ellie with their mermaids and makeup. Win for Auntie Margit!
so serious
Claire - being a bit more of a free spirit was goofy and messing around with hers.
she was so chill about hers she was happy to let Charlie help her apply her makeup. HA! Ellie wouldn't let him (or me really) near hers.
Business Ellie.
I mean - she did a really good job!
Claire's is the work of a 7 year old brother.
Overall it was a delightful birthday for both Ellie and Claire. I still can't believe they are 6!!! We are beyond thankful and proud of them and it has been a joy to watch them grow this year in Kindergarten. I really need to do a 6 year old update...maybe I can get this done!
