Walter the puppy

Suzanne and Grant got Walter and then had to take a Europe trip with Grant's family. I volunteered to take Walter for 15 days while they traveled. I figured it would be a good reminder why I don't need to add a puppy to our current clan.

Kids met Walter after they got him. He is a sweet puppy who loves to lay on laps.

Charlie - relaxing with Walter.

Walter moved in - with most of our house then blocked off. Ha.

He really blossomed while he was here. We loved playing with him, but saw how much work puppies are!

he loves Lily's pig, which is now his.

he loved to try to be BFFs with Lily. She was such a champ.

Lily taught him to walk.

he was still bugging her on walks.

more bugging.

Bill had a lot of fun making up funny pictures and stories to send to Suzanne and Grant.

Bill's caption:
He didn't seem real hungry for the kiefer and kibble this morning. But he LOVES Cap'n Crunch!

kids love cuddling him and playing with him post school!

Bill's second photo:
Walter wasn't settling in real well in his kennel last night, but I figured out how to get him to sleeping like a baby!

Walt's version of helping walk.

we started taking him in the bluff and he loved it!

my helpers.

After a full week of adjustment and growing he really started to get brave about breaking into the living room.

I took a lot of pictures....a bit obsessed.

more bugging lily.

Lucky dog!

first snow! Kids played outside forever!

Walter eating the snowman.

I brought Walter to school one day so the kids could show their friends.

He LOVED all the kids and just took the petting like a champ.

Bill still going....
We just got home from church and found this! He won't even answer to Walter anymore. He only responds to "Desiree".

Bill again:
Walter just isn't acting like himself anymore. At first, he would just enjoy a beer with dinner. Before we knew it, our liquor cabinet was empty and he couldn't go more than a few hours without withdrawls. Suz and grant - I've learned that the Betty Ford is accepting applications for canine addicts and have already taken the liberty of buying y'all plane tickets. You can pay me back after he has been sober for several weeks. I know, with the right support, he will pull through this! Better days ahead!

The last night - Walter tucked everyone in.

So glad we got to have Walter for 2 weeks - he went from being a timid little 8 week old puppy to a bigger 10.5 week old puppy who liked to play and go on walks. I am very excited to sleep in on Saturday morning!!!

Halloween 2018

This year the costume credit can go entirely to Bill. He decided this was the year for the girls to be the Grady twins - the scary twins from the horror movie The Shining.

First costume try on.

With some dark shadows and ready to go to our church Fall Fest party the Saturday before Halloween. So scary!

Charlie went as Jack from the movie.

see they aren't scary!

the photo Charlie is replicating.

At church - playing with bunnies. Many adults got the costumes and thought they were entertaining. Others had no clue. ha!

Sorting candy with Luke and Maya after trick or treating in our neighborhood.
