B.L.A.S.T. what a great trip! sorensen’s invited us to join them on a ski trip to park city utah. we jumped on the opportunity to do something we love with friends we love.
kris and matt arrived the day before we did so bill booked a shuttle to take us to the place we were staying. after we got our bags and headed out the doors to meet our driver this is the vehicle that we road in…just the two of us. it could have fit an entire ski team!
by 10 pm we were sitting on the couch having a glass of wine with the sorensens. what a quick and easy trip.
our first day we decided to drive over to the cottonwoods and ski snowbird. we met my cousin jake who lives in park city and tommy who lives in salt lake there for the day. they definitely gave us the local tour and we skied like crazy.
the top of the mountain. to the left you can see jake, matt, bill and kris.
matt and kris were the hip and brightly colored ones.
what a fun day we had!
for lunch we ate outside because it was so warm. tommy introduced us to beermosas – a combo of a pbr and a little bit of orange (or clementines because that is what we had). I didn’t have a taste, but I am sure it was quite the experience.
me . kris and i skied for a bit alone so the guys could go buck wild.
can’t beat the views when skiing.
you can see on the sign that it was 40 degrees out!
after skiing hard for the day we were beat! I was so out of it I pulled my strap over my jacket and kris thought it was hysterical. we were like 12 yr old girls during some of this trip. giggling like crazy. such fun.
after some hot tubbing we got ready and headed out to the blind dog for some A-MAZING sushi.
I had to include these 2 pictures because the number of times we took this picture was unbelievable. to get the flash, focus, etc just right took matt and bill extra long.
the restaurant was packed and our sushi took a bit longer to come out than expected. when it arrived we were famished. we initially ordered 4 rolls and they were gone so fast (maybe 2 minutes) I had to snap a pic of the aftermath. nothing was left. it was so delicious we didn’t mind waiting for more.
and the dessert! I had these fritters with a caramel sauce. I was in heaven.
the second day we walked the 70 feet to the gondola and skied at the canyons. what a treat to be so close to the lift!
bill ready to rock.
on the gondola
the snow started right away and came down HARD all day. it was awesome!
check out that snow!
such a fun couple!
what a day!
we did a lot of tree skiing. praise the Lord no one hit a tree.
so thankful that kris was always stopping for pictures.
on our way into lunch kris spied this sign. cracked us up. obviously no one was obeying the sign.
this place made for a great lunch spot. cloud dine.
check out that hot cocoa!
check out all that snow!!!
for some of the day it was raining dippin’ dots!
you could put your hands out for a second and they would collect. then we would eat them and they did feel just like dippin’ dots!
our third day was our big powder day. we were waiting in the line at the gondola to get up. it was nice to have some freshies to ski that day.
I wish I could say I was on the lift with this naughtie, but I missed it. kris was and snapped this shot. how cute is that dog!
matt hit a jump and then double ejected and flipped. in my brother’s lingo that would be “he hucked it. then sent it”.
someday bill and I will have new – non-black outfits.
bill scoping out his next turns.
me – peeking through the trees.
the two surgeons had to assess this wine bottle and try to figure out how to open it after the first bottle opener failed.
they eventually got it. so we were able to hit up the hot tub with wine.
then we headed to park city to have an incredible dinner at talisker on main.
attempt number 1.
we had more wonderful conversation at dinner. it was nice to spend 4 solid days with these peops.
our final day the boys went skiing at deer valley and were able to watch a world cup mogul competition. kris and I decided we really needed to ENJOY ourselves so we went into park city and hung out at a local coffee shop and then shopped around and had a delicious lunch. perfect way to wrap up our trip.
what an amazing ski trip! thank you matt & kris for inviting us to join you on this trip. the best part about this trip is that we know this is the first of many future ski trips together!
